I am on the edge of a freak out ..... I think???
by DATA-DOG inso the rc really sucked, but i made it through.
the propaganda was mind blowing.
i don't know if the crap will be available on the official website or not, but hopefully it gets leaked somehow.

Dear DataDog.... I think the suggestion: "Just tell the elders you have health/ stress problems" is the best. Tell your wife "I cannot take the stress, I am having anxiety, I cannot go anymore for health reasons.' (and really, really, really don't ever, ever, ever talk to the elders... just start breathing hard, holding your heart, and say "I can't, I can't, I need to be alone" LOL, LOL, LOL
You will totally have soooooooooooooooooooooo much more peace when you do not go or listen. Sit outside in your garden, watch a TV show and don't feel guilty, take a walk around the block... Your head will start to clear.
Take care, and let us know how it goes. .. Cha ching

Good analogy stuckinarut2! Sweet, fluffy, pretty on the outside, but when it comes down to it, no substance. Need a friend? need help? It all disappears in a lick!

Dear Quellly:
Thanks for speaking up. I think J-dubs get the feeling that they can do ANY thing they feel like to the "outcasts"! and that they shall feel no consequence, that 'we' shall just 'suck it up' and 'take our whippings and our shame."
NOT!
Actually, this experienc shows who the nice, happy, loving people are, and exposes the WT robots carrying out injustice. Are the robots trained to follow Jesus in love, or the WT in "legalistic bullying"?

Expect more Crazy as JW.ORG trims the fat and fills the coffers.
by donuthole inwhen rutherford assumed the presidency of the watchtower society he instituted series of sweeping changes to the teachings and practices of the bible students.
some of these changes were at complete odds with what had been taught previously.
a key example was the elevation of the watchtower society as "god's visible organization on earth".

I totally can see this happening. I see people becoming more and more "Yes, I will obey" and robot-like, spouting pre-proposed phrases from their mouth...
"Jehovah will take care of it" "The light gets brighter" "We need to trust in the organization" "The brothers know what is best for us."

Hey Lois, maybe you saw me there, in Pasadena! an 8 day assembly? (or was it 9?) I was about 8 years old, and remember the concrete benches we sat on from 9 am to 9 pm.. also, we had garbage bags with holes in the top so that we c/slip them over our heads like a raincoat, whiles we held umbrellas over our heads... It was also hot there at times.
I also remember the loooooong drive down there from the bay area, no super freeways then, and we went with another sister and her 2 girls. My mom (her two girls) and the others made 6 in our pink Impala sation wagon... good thing we could lay down in the back in those days! We stayed with a fam down there.... I can't remember if it was this assembly or another LA ordeal, but at one of them I got a terrible, terrible bloody nose (from the heat?) and another one I broke out in a rash from the heat, barely got my mom to agree to take me back to the house we stayed in, but had to lay in the hallway because our car was blocked by other friendly 'parkers' and I had to take a cold cold shower to get rid of the bumps... such sacrifices for what? What do you remember from those conventions? blah, blah, blah....
The only thing I loved about those assemblies, the only thing that made them tolerable, the only thing that kept me alive, were the noon time dishes of ice cream topped with nectarines! Yum!

jgnat: Although you say "why spend so much energy on that person"... it's because she can turn people against me. I told my boss (after a year and a half) how this girl would make me cry, etc, etc... I had nightmares. (I had probation of 9 months before becoming permanent)
One week, when my coworker said "I notice you haven't been getting so much done" I replied: "I am working every minute." but then, because I have this "need" & then I 'remember'... "Oh, yeah, our new person hasn't been filing in the back of these forms (I did tell her that I would so that our team and process c/go faster) and I have been filling them in for her, and it takes a while."
Now, at the beginning of my employment here, if I didn't have an 'x' in a box, or a check mark in a box (versus a line thru it) I would have hell to pay "
Why didnl't you do that, you are not being complete" Well my "co" likes the new girl, and DID NOT SAY ANYTHING to her about it, she just 'filled it in for her'... So when my 'co' replied, 'yeah, i have noticed that too, do you want me to say something to her about it?" I said (naively) 'if you want to'lThe next week, I come back to work, the new girl is treating me totally different, before she was friendly, talkative, etc. My boss spoke to me verrrrry strictly business.... I finally got an inkling of what happened when new girl said, 'i don't want any trouble, I will just do my job, I don't want to involve the boss, no problem, i will stay after work, i don't want people saying I don't finish my stuff... (something my co w/threaten me with in an indirect way "I don't want to say anything to the boss about this, but....)
My boss finally says to me "It seems to me. cha ching, you are just like the person you described!" "You do the same thing"
Lately, the health and information dept has arranged for "communication" classes once a month... My problem is that my co & I are basically an isolated 'team' (use the word lightly) and no one can see what happens but her and I.
In one day, she had people who liked me looking at me as if i was evil. Alot like the WT, ambient abuse.

LisaRose: Interesting that you brought up how "Your conscience is based on what this org taught me" and "I can't 'conscientiously' go back." I just came across a stray old WT(Feb 15, 1994) RE: "Jehovah's Witnesses- A Cult or Ministers of God?" and was talking to my sister (not a believer in the cult any longer) and she said that if asked, she would basically boil it all down to, "Well, I don't like liars or hypocrites, God doesn't either, so I can't attend JW's any longer, the leaders, the writers, the GB are liars and hypocrites."

OpenMind: haahaa! Luuuuuuv it!
Only when he hears it from another person does he change!!! (and he hates me saying that, but it is true)
I tell him: "Too long" (and yes, they were good, but dry this time, because he just can't trust anything but a tool)
Well, one more thing he does trust, and that's "the facts, just the facts." Good thing you included a web page from the US dept of Agriculture! Wow!!~ now I can rest my case!!!

Yum, yum, yum, those chops were gooood!
My hubby has turned out to be a pretty good cook :-)
Our experience, with this "case", has been so revealing...We like to say "that's how the Watchtower dog hunts."... and it does.
In this congregation, things have gotten very "legal" in the way things are spoken about and done. One poor sister, about to commit suicide, was not given any help, because of the legal stance of her involvement in the 'case'. What choice did she have? Call the elders? no... Her husband? no.... MY husband? yes.... He was the only one willing to help. He wasn't worried about "how will this effect the case?" Really, after all of the wolves/lawyers circled, and we were not attending meetings, people still came to us.... they liked us, they valued us, we helped them.
When the case was 'dismissed,' three uber elders (as my husband says) ( I would say 'bethel loving') were moved in from around the area to take over, they played their games: "We love you, come back, we want to help you" & when their token visits had been done, and then their true motives were revealed... the announcements were made, "so and so are no longer JW's."
I wasn't df'd, but my mom won't give me her cell phone number, etc.... My sister and brother in law went to my son, after taking the sides of the lawyers and elders, and tried to "rescue" him & his wife... from "us."... Behind our back. Yay! my son is smarter than that!
My daughter-in-law wasn't df'd but all those cheery, friendly, help taking JW friends at work treat her like a leper. Her bosses noticed, and made a comment... They don't like it, so I am sure she feels a bit more secure.. after all, they USE to see the "world wide love of JW's" before my husband and son took a stand for the victim of abuse.
All because you "do the Christian thing."
